Television Withdrawal

Somehow I've missed most of my favorite shows this week. I was busy watching Vera Drake last Sunday and missed Desperate Housewives. Worst of all, on Tuesday I got hooked on reruns of Law and Order on TNT and totally forgot to watch Gilmore Girls (w guest star Norman Mailer). I also didn't check out Veronica Mars, which is supposedly the new Buffy, and we all know what a big BtVS fan I am. Then on Wednesday, I had to give up Lost and West Wing to watch the historic fourth and final game of the World Series with mi chavo. Plus, we were busy buying wigs so we would've missed the beginning of Lost regardless. And then, on Thursday, NBC had the gall to play a rerun (that I've seen!) of ER. Plus, I got really tired last night and we missed the late, late show of Ray. Sigh. Such difficulties in my life.

And here's some more - ABC plans to move Alias to Wednesdays opposite West Wing (and after Lost!) I don't care if Kristin thinks West Wing keeps sliding down hill. Jimmy Smits is on it!! Jimmy Smits!!!

Thanks to Television Without Pity, I know that the ep I missed involved lots of diplomacy. Which might be boring to regular teevee viewers, but really appeals to the FSO-wannabe in me. After all, it was the Dayton Accords ending the Balkan conflict that made me want to be an FSO in the first place. Right, so hopefully the rents still have it and are willing to hold onto it till Turkey Day. (They use a DVR and don't know how to transfer digital recordings to tape...which is sorta simple to do except that you have to actually let the recording play in real time.) Anyway, did I mention - JIMMY SMITS?!?!

sigh. I suppose I should get up and do some grocery shopping. But it's windy outside and I don't want to be cold. Plus, I don't feel like spending money. Strangeness. Normal people aren't like this the day after they get their paycheck. I wish I wasn't in such a deep credit card hole.
