Motorcycle Diaries and Team America

Mi Hombre and I went to see a double feature yesterday and um, we actually paid for tickets to each show (and they were playing at two different places). Team America simply wasn't as funny as I hoped it would be - the opening sequence was hilarious, but it fell flat after that. Yes, the anti-Pearl Harbor song was amusing, and the Montage song was hilarious but the whole "political theory" behind the movie (which is explained using vulgar terms for genitalia) simply wasn't funny.

On a positive note, I thoroughly enjoyed Motorcycle Diaries. I think it works as a buddy film, even if you have no clue who Che Guevara was and/or you don't agree with his subsequent politics. I think it was an important look at how exploring the world can help sensitize privileged young adults to the realities of life.

I'd write more, but I'd really like to leave work now.
