Chow: the Funny HaHa Food Mag

According to the NYT, there is a need for a funny food magazine. Apparently the copy in the big name food books is stodgy and boring. I have to flip through those books to keep up with our "comp set" (which books our advertisers are advertising in) and I dunno. It doesn't sound like Chow is really going that far out of the main-stream. By still asking experts for advice they bow to the authority of foodies who make their living selling food. Why don't they ask regular folks? Like the guy who was constantly asked for his latke recipe so he started a frozen latke company that's featured in the November issue of O, the Oprah Magazine. I'm sure there are enough peons out there with valuable food knowledge to fill more than one book on the subject. And when was the last time you said you were going to chow on some food? Yeah, I don't remember either. I don't think it's ethnocentric to say that Nosh would've been a better title. Nosh - it's not just for Jews anymore.
